How to Use KMTS Webmail

KMTSNet customers have the ability to read, write and send mail through the KMTS Portal Home Page.  Customers can read mail remotely from another location and can delete a message or group of messages that may be too large to download onto their mail client.

  1. Please close your mail client (Outlook Express, Outlook, Netscape mail, etc.).

Open your browser and go to the KMTS Portal Home Page at http://www.kmts.ca/.  You will notice a box at the right of the screen that says “Access Your KMTS WebMail” (Picture 1).

You will then notice that there is a line through your message, this indicates that you have selected your message for deletion.  Now click the “Purge deleted messages” option and this will delete the message you have selected.  You will now see your message or group of messages is gone.  Once they are gone, they can not be downloaded to your mail client.

  1. There are several options that will aid you in working with your email account.  The Quarantine option on the left will bring you to all the email messages that have been trapped due to viruses, spam etc…the settings link (top menu) will open a page with a rules option that will bring you to settings you may want to create for messages coming in to your mail box… the settings tab will display other options such as Email Filtering, Auto-Reply, Aliases, etc.

  2. When you are done, make sure that you select the “Logoff” button. If you simply click the “X” at the top right to close your browser, the mail server will not acknowledge your log you off for up to 15 minutes and you will not be able to access your mail through your mail client during this period.  (Picture 7)
