What is DSL?
DSL is a shortened acronym for 'Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line'. With DSL you can connect to KMTS Net to download at speeds of up to 1.28 million bits per second (Mbps), and to send information from your computer at speeds of up to 300 thousand bits per second (Kbps). Speed is dependent upon the length of the cable. That's 23 times faster than a 56 Kbps dial-up modem and 44 times faster than a 28.8 Kbps dial-up modem.
What is the Advantage of DSL?
Speed. Your access line is not shared with other users. You get the full speed anywhere up to 1.28 Mbps. And, you can talk on the telephone at the same time you are logged onto the net. DSL also gives you an "instant on" connection
How do I get DSL?
It's easy. Contact KMTS Net at (807)468-2040 and ask for high speed internet service. They will let you know what you need and how to get connected.

Are there any hook-up fees?
Yes, there is a service charge of that will apply to hook-up this service at your place of business.
Is there anything else I need?
Yes, if you don't already have one, you will need to equip your computer with a Network Interface Card (NIC card) that supports 10 BT ethernet. (Most computers have one built in already) This card can be purchased at any local computer supply store.
